Simply Summer! is our series of holiday courses at the Academy. It offers students a great opportunity to work with experienced theatre practitioners, specialising in acting, vocal coaching, choreography, and stage combat to name but a few.
These experts are committed and passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with our students as they create workshops that are simply wonderful!
Week long workshops have a specific focus, set against a background of fun theatre games and exercises, song and movement. Over the weeks, students discover and learn many key components of an actor’s training, meet new friends and develop many valuable life skills to take them well beyond the stage!

Performers (12-17 years). If you’ve ever wanted to learn how the professionals make their sword fights look convincing, or how to throw a punch without hurting anyone then this course is for you! Students will be taught basic stage combat techniques along with the acting techniques, a story and the tools to perform believably and safely.

Working on scripts, monologues and devised scenes you will hone your acting technique and develop yourself as a performer. Audition tips and advice will be shared, and, if required, assistance in monologue selection can be provided. The week will culminate in a sharing session for family and friends.
