7-9 Year Olds

Stage 1 Drama

Building on the skills developed in ’Mini-Dramas’, students now begin to explore the role of the voice and body in acting, as well as continuing to use theatre games, exercises and scenarios to explore drama in order to enhance both their theatrical and social skills. The emphasis on play and fun is maintained, and they are also introduced to a variety of disciplines such as improvisation, movement, devising, text and characterisation.

Our Stage 1 Drama Courses are 75 minutes per week for a 33 week year.

Stage 1 Performing Arts (Stage 1 PA)

This course allows students who enjoy singing and dancing to do an extra 80 minutes per week focusing on musical theatre skills. Students will spend half their time on singing skills, being introduced to musical theatre material and getting opportunities to work on ensemble and eventually solo singing. They will also spend time on musical theatre dance, exploring movement work, as well as basic stagecraft for musical theatre dance.

Our Stage 1 PA courses are intended to be taken in conjunction the Stage 1 drama courses. However they can also be taken on their own.

The courses last 80 minutes  each week for a 33 week year.
